Pretty girls

The girls were outside being silly one day, and this is what we got.  Meg loves loves to take pictures.  She does a pretty good job, if I don't say so myself.  We went to Colorado for Thanksgiving.  Wouldn't you know it, I left the camera at home :( so no pictures of us all together.  Both my sisters live there now.  We had a great time being together.  We also spent some time with Brandons dad and Sandee.  This post is for you guys.  Nothing new here with our family, but didn't want to disapoint you with no posts :)

~ Let's go get our party on ~

"LET'S GO GET OUR PAR-TY ON!!"

 Mrs. "SUPERSTAR"
"DISCO, DISCO" (I couldn't get my comb out)
"BABY I WAS BORN THIS WW-AA-YY"
Mckenzie came into the kitchen while I was making dinner and said "LETS GO GET OUR PARTY ON"
She has complained every Halloween for years that our house is NOT scary enough.  So Tuesday I went and got some "SCARY" stuff for next year.  I found these wigs for 2 bucks so I bought them.  She found them downstairs and began her new looks all by herself.   Yep she is weird!
All captions were done by Mckenzie herself :)

Happy Halloween........

 Carving Pumpkins Sunday night

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

                     Super Man

The girls came out to trick or treat in our neighborhood.  It was so fun to see them.
    Super Heros
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and Sister Kortz ~ couldn't find Elder Dorneys badge so he had to settle for mine :)  He is still cute regardless!
I tried to make a frozen hand ~ but didn't have enough time for it to freeze.  The fingers broke off while taking it out of the glove :(
They had so much fun last night. Gerbers came over for dinner and Trick or Treating.  Its so nice to have the kids old enough.  Us old folks got to hang out at home while the kids left.  Kenzie and Tayah were gone for forever.  We were talking and having fun, then realized we hadn't heard from the girls.  The older kids were back and down stairs watching a movie.  We called Mckenzie and Tayah and they were out having a ball, just the 2 of them :)

Costume Central.....

Megan and Carly getting their costume started.  We sewed their costumes ~ I made them participate and cut out the fabric.  Holy cow, they were so stressed.  I kept telling them, there wasn't much they could do to mess up the fabric.  It was fun to have someone to hang out with me while I was sewing.
Megan is helping Tayah with her costume.  They knocked out that tutu in record timing.  It took them about 40 minutes to get it cut and tied.  Way to go girls and its so cute.  We bought Mckenzies costume online this year.  Never again!  Of course it was too big.  I know shocker, she is such a big girl.  We had to take hers apart to make it smaller, and to make it not so cheesy.  She is putting the final touches on it here.  We are all ready for Halloween and trick or treating.  It should be so much fun.
Stay tuned for the real thing!!!!

Gifts for Kids

Sliding down the hill while the parents were deciding where we should eat for dinner.
Go ahead run way to go Kenzie
This cheer is a cheer Brandon does before every bracket home game.
Tayah and Mckenzies first game together.  Doesn't she look good in RED??
 Way to go girls!
 2nd place

After game chat.
We went to Mesquite last weekend.  The girls took 2nd place out of 26 teams from Utah,Nevada, Hawaii, and Arizona.  The Championship game was finished at 1:30am Saturday night.  It sure made for a long day.  The games were behind before they even started.  One of the Umps were late.  It made for a super long day with many hours between games.  I will say it was the funnest tournament since Meg played with Viperz.  The away tournaments are always the most fun.  You get to know the girls and their families.  Us moms sure had a fun time ~ and some dads!  1am many things seem real funny.  The games were great.  I haven't cheered like that in a long time.

New Bedroom

Last month we sold Mckenzies bed and she got to redo her room.  Her room got a face lift. She picked everything out by herself.  She even helped with the painting, she did a pretty good job too. Who knew brown and pink would be so cute together in a room.  She loves her big bed.  She looks so little in it though.

Megan got asked to Homecoming 2 weeks ago.  Of course they don't just ask ~ "hey will you go with me"?No, they have to ask in creactive, cute ways.  Well it happened to be the busiest week shes yet to have.  It took her 3 days to reply.  To keep with the "BUNS" theme she replied "I'd be a weiner if I didn't go to Homecoming with you" and left a package of hotdogs in his room.  So once we finished that, the hunt for the dress started.  Megan and Carly went to the mall last Friday night and found some dresses and put them on hold.  Saturday Tammy (carlys mom) and I went and approved them ~ or not.  Meg had found one for 15 dollars.  Can you say score?  Well it was way to short.  We found another one that looked just like it but was longer.  We bought it and then went to another store and found this cute one that she wore.  I am so not excited for future dress shopping.  Wow did I miss my mom this week :)  If she was here Megs dress would of been longer and had better straps.  Since she is not here we had to do with my limited ability.  But a cute girl can make anything look good.  I begged her to wear one of the 21 dresses we have in CA.  Since they are 20 years old and none of us were tall, that didn't work too well either.  Char had some that Meg liked and would of worn, but Meg is like a foot taller than Char ~ so needless so say they were "WAY" too short.

For Homecoming these days they do day activities  So at noon they all went to Herriman Beach.  They played in the sand, skimed boarded and had a cayak.  They said they had lots of fun, even though the water was "way cold".  She was 30 minutes late to her hair appointment and by the time we got home she had 20 minutes to get her make-up on and get dressed.  She was a little stressed.  She pulled it of and was ready 5 minutes late ~ and looked very pretty.  Carly on the other hand was 30 minutes late.  They all hung out in our yard waiting for her. They were all irritated that we still wanted pictures.  Finally they were off to dinner at Olive Garden.  Cute Riley and Miles asked "Um when do they need to be home"  Oh yeah we forgot our little girls were going on their first date.  I said 9 but Tammy and Brandon said 12.  Carlys dad and I didn't want them to even go.  Brandon and Tammy set all the rules :)  They were home right a midnight.  We have some good kids and they have some great friends.  They had a GREAT time.

St George Softball

DOUBLE!!!! Great hit Meg

Meg had a tournament in St George Labor Day Weekend. We have a sweet friend that lives there and we stayed at her Condo. Its great, thanks Janet! Megan played great. She hit well the entire tournament, they came in 4th. Not too bad, first tournament as a team. We stayed Sunday and Monday and went hiking and had lots of fun. The picture of the tree Meg took. She has a great eye for photography ~ she took lots of cool pictures. I will have to post some of them later.

First day of school......

This year was new schools for both girls. Megan started high school. Here in Utah 9th grade is in Jr High. Mckenzie started Jr High. We have a sophmore and a 7th grader. YIKES!! Where does the time go? To say they were scared to death would be an under statement. They were terrified, both of them. 7th graders went to school Friday with out 8th and 9th graders there. It gave them a chance to find their classes and lockers without a ton of kids. Not sure it helped with her nerves though. Megan went a few days earlier with some friends to find her classes. But she was so scared to go to Bingham. She was afraid of getting lost. But, they both survived and are having lots of fun.
