Amazing......

Not sure there is any other word that describes this awesome picture.
A dear friend of my moms drew this not long after my mom died. She made four copies for us. Char had told me Amber made one for each of us, and tried to explain how it looks.
Well she did it no justice. They have sat under Chars bed since Amber gave them to her, over a year ago. We didn't know how to get them from California to Colorado and Utah without bending them. Well is just so happened that my dad moved a friend this last weekend from California to Kansas. His two stops on the way are Utah and Colorado. So we finally got your pictures. I am sure Amber would be dying if she heard me call it a picture. The correct name is a Lithograph. I will be honest when I walked into my dads house and saw it hanging for the first time, and seeing it for the first time it took my breath away. It is so so real, and I didn't quit like it. It was nothing against Amber she did a fabulous job. It just made me sad. Look at the detail. Her hands are just like I remember them, those dang glasses are right were they always were and a ten others everywhere else. I am excited to have my own copy now. I can't wait to get it matted and framed. Thank you Amber it was so thoughtful of you to think of us.
The correct description of the art is ~ it is a lithograph. it was hand drawn in lithographic crayon on a slab of french limestone. it was then carefully "etched" into the stone using a chemical process, and printed by hand rolling ink onto the stone, placing paper over the image and pushing through a hand cranked lithographic press. So instead of calling it a picture I should be calling it "ART"

Margaret Rachel

She already has uncle Brandon wrapped around her finger
I love the cheeks
Jonas wasn't too sure what to think about all the hype
so so sweet, thanks uncle Whit

We have a sweet new neice/cousin. Little Maggie was born August 27. She has a special place in my heart. She was born on my mom's birthday. I like to think she sent her down with a little kiss for me:) I know I am a little corny. She is the sweetest thing ever. We were able to go to the hospital and see them. Mckenzie was not old enough, she couldn't go into the room. So uncle Whit was no nice to bring her down the hall so Kenz could see her in real life. Jonas and Maggie have the best parents ever. We love them and are so proud of them.

Good Golly text messages....

I was looking and our cell phone account information this morning. We all know Meg is a social butterfly, but geez 13,130. Yes you are seeing that correctly, she text 13,130 texts last month. She hardly ever talks on the phone, now I know why. She is too busy pressing letters. The weird thing is, is her phone is broke so on the screen of her phone there is like 1/8 of an inch of screen she can read from. Its crazy that she still reads that many. Oh to be young again.

First Day of 9th grade!

Meg started school today. She is a big 9th grader this year. She was excited to see her friends of course. She wanted to get there nice and early to chit chat. It's a little sad to have them both back in school. It will be nice to be back on a schedule though. Not sure what kind of schedule we can hold with them already playing softball. We just hope we have many more days of hot weather.

First Day of 6th grade........

Mckenzie's first day of school was today. She loved it. The first thing she said when she came home today was "I love my teacher" what a relief. She wasn't sure yesterday if she wanted to take the bus or have us take her. She was afraid if we took her she would cry (like the past years) last night she wanted to take the bus. I will admit I was a little sad. I wanted to take her, but I was willing to forgo taking her so she wouldn't be sad. But she decided she could be brave and let us take her. We got her to her class and she was just fine. The 2 little girls in the neighborhood she "always" plays with are in her class too. The first day of school is much better with friends. So she is the big girl on campus now we told her. She said "I am too short to be in 6th grade"

A visit from the Ericksons

Char and my dad drove out with the kids to spend a week with us. We had so so much fun. We tried to beg them to stay longer but they had to go home and get back to real life. We did some fun things while they were here. We went to Lagoon, went up the canyon and had dinner, we took the kids swimming. They all get along to well, its fun to see them together. Derick was in Orem with his kids visiting his parents. They came up one night and spent the night with us. We of course had softball so they were able to see both girls play. Thanks for coming ~ we had so much fun and miss you all.

4th of July

We hung out with the Gerbers all weekend, and had a great time. Saturday we went to dinner and then we did fire works. The kids have so much fun together ~ theyare fun to watch. They got up on the roof to watch all the other fire works going on in the Valley. Sunday we went to the Bees games. The fireworks after the game were great. We had so much fun. We love the U.S.A. and grateful for our freedoms and those that make it possible.

Pioneer Trek ~ she made it

Mckenzie had her History she did a great report on Neil Armstrong. Brandon and I were able to go to her class on Thursday to see her presentation. She did a great job and got an "A" way to go Kenz. Last day of school was Friday ~ yeah! no school for 6 weeks. Megan went on Trek. She wasn't too excited.. She went and had a "GREAT" time. Here are some before and after pictures. She left all clean, and came home all tired and dirty. She had a great experience and was so glad she went. She made some new friends and they have all became friends on Facebook and have chatted a few times. We are so greatful she had a great time and came home safe.

Long over due......

I have been very lazy ~ just putting off updating our blog. We have been up to lots and lots of softball. We have had 2 first places from the Bullets and 2 second places from the Riptide. Both the same weekends and of course not even in the same place. Mckenzie was in Ephriam and Meg was here in Salt Lake. Both teams were undefeated and went to the championship game. They both lost the championship game, so the other team had to beat them 2 times. Mckenzies team won and Megans lost. Meg played until midnight that night. Brandon and Mckenzie beat us home and they were in Ephriam. That leads us to the picture of Brandon getting a hair cut. He told his team if they took 1st he would let them buzz his head. Needless to say they won and he got a hair cut. This last weekend Megan was in Pleasant Grove and Kenzi was in South Jordan. Meg took 2nd, they played Emily's team. They went into extra innings and lost. It was a great game. She played 5 games that day. Mckenzies team took 1st. Mckenzie got MVP for the tournament. Her game also went into extra innings. She hit the winning run in. Yeah Mckenzie way to go. Pictures from that tournament coming later. Mckenzie got 2 awards at school. Yes she is still in school. Last week she got principal pride for a great book report. Yesterday she got one for reading 6026 minutes. Megan and Rylee made this very cute cake, and it was yummy. Rylee and some friends took a cake decortaing class. Meg wanted her to show her all her secrets. This catches us up a little. I will try to be better at keeping you updated.

Megan hitting a double.

Mckenzie safe at home.

Megan and some of her Buds!

Brandon ~ the cutest umpire there!

Megan and Jonas.

Mckenzie and Jonas.

Mckenzies team put on a small tournament Saturday. Her team only played one game they played a 12 and under team. Yes of course we beat them. Mckenzie had to pitch 5 feet farther back than normal and did a great job. Megan had a great hit. A nice clean double. Way to go Meg!! Since the Bullets were in charge, Brandon got to umpire. There was a misunderstanding so we were short an umpire short. I heard he did a fabulous job. Sweet baby Jonas and his mom and dad came a watched a few games. They are sweet to come sit in the wind. Jonas had to hang out for forever to get a picture with Megan. Thanks Jonas for being such a good sport. It was fun to have you guys there. Grandma and Suzanne also came for all the games. Thanks for your support. Suzanne it was fun to have you there. Grandma thanks for always being there :)
