Brandon.

Mckenzies birthday was Wednesday. We had the family over for cake and ice cream friday night. Its always fun to be together. Suzanne took Mckenzie shopping earlier that day. She wanted to make sure Mckenzie got just what she wanted and then some. Always has to be spoiled :) She finally got some Beiber wear Mckenzie told her. She also got a Rip Stick she has been wanting. We told her she wasn't getting one. Looks like she has got the hang of it. Happy Birthday Mckenzie ~ 11 years old. We love so so much!!

Megan is the new Betty Crocker. She made these cute cute cupcakes and
and cake, while we were at the U game. Megan saw them in a magazine and
wanted to make them. She figured them out all by herself. She is very
creative.

The girls and their very cute coach......

Mckenzie't team got to be a "Lil Ute" They go to a Univeristy of Utah Softball game and get introduced with the "big girls" it is something fun for the girls to do with their team.

We went to St George 2 weeks ago for softball. I know shocker!! We made a little mini vacation out of it. The weather wasn't the best, but we still had fun. I didn't take very many pictures because I left the battery charger at home and yes of course the batteries were low. I wanted to have some for the end of the tournament if they went all the way. Megan of course had the biggest rooting section (like always) Grandpa Kortz drove with us. Grandpa and Grandma Coleman came down. A friend of Grandpas watched games on Saturday and a family friend that used to live down the street from us in Napa and now lives in St George and came to watch a game. They came in 5th place out of 12 teams. Not too bad for the begining of the Season. They are a young team. Teams that won were from Vegas so they play all year long, and they were very big girls, and very good.

A New Dress

The finished dress.

she got a little pooped out and feel asleep while I sewed.
the finishing touches.
Two years ago I made the girls Easter dresses. Brandon was out of time and we went to the fabric store and spent a "TON" of money. We bought patterns and material to make a few dresses and some skirts. Well I got 2 dresses done one for each of them. Mckenzie still wears hers and of course Megan is way to old to wear her's. Last weekend we were supposed to go to Minneapolis to visit the Hoyts :) well when Friday rolled around all the flights were full. So we had to stay home. Mckenzie asked if she could help me make her a dress. So Friday night and Saturday we made a dress. It turned out so cute and she did do most of the sewing, with a little help of course. She was so proud. I will post a picture of the finished product on her.

Maybe we should find new sport....

Megan with her new tatoo. It was hit hard. You can really see the stitches from the ball.

This is really gross, but kind of cool.

Megan at her first Volleyball game.
Softball seems to have it in for the Dorney family. Brandon has 2 pins in his hand. Meg has the strings across her forehead. She was at practice the other night. They practice in the gym at the high school. The girl she was warming up with, thought she was looking then... BOOM!!! it hit her forehead!! Maybe we can get her sold on Volleyball..... Yeah right that will never happen:)

Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us, to let us know they are Happy.

A Day Filled with lots of fun.

Brandon had his thumb/hand fixed today. Last Saturday we took the girls to an inside facility to practice softball. Mckenzie was pitching to me. Wow am I too old to do that :) Meg was hitting with Brandon. He was close to her but behind the net. They were doing front toss. He tosses the ball and she drives it right back. Well she hit it so fast and hard he didn't have time to pull his hand back. So needless to say she drove it right back at his hand. It broke the joint between his hand and thumb. Saturday when we went to the Dr he showed us the x-ray. Yeah you could tell it was broke. But when we saw it today. WOW yes it was totally broke, a big piece. She did a great job on it. It was a clean break and lined up well when he moved it back together. So the good news was he did not have to open his hand up to put in a screw. He has 2 pins in his hand instead. Much easier!! I was talking to Meg the other day making sure she knew it was not her fault and no one was blaming her. She said I know. But I am proud I broke it. That means it was a hard hit ball, and she did exactly what he said. "Hit it hard and drive it back" at least she is honest :) While I was waiting for the Dr to come tell me all went well. Lots was going through my head. He was getting the Michael Jackson drug propofal. So that was a little nerve racking. The last time I was in a waiting room, waiting for surgery to end. The results were not what we wanted to hear. I knew he was in good hands and the other situations were very extreme, and much different. I knew his results would not be the same as the others. But our minds like to play games on us. From the time I left him on the gurny to the time the Dr came out was 35 minutes. So that was a relief. We have a long road of recovery ahead. Glad its over and the healing has begun.

Megan no longer plays for the Viperz........

She now plays for "RIPTIDE" After many tears, long nights and several changes, the Viperz are no longer. Megan tried out for a 3 teams. She was asked to play with 3 teams, one she did not even try out for. After much anxiety she was invited to play with Riptide. We are very excited for her. She can't wait for the season to start. As Viperz we played Riptide often. Sometimes we won, sometimes they won. They are a great team. The team is in our area, and they practice at th High Schol she will attend.(yes very close) One of the coaches is the High School coach. That is a good thing too. We are very sad to not be with the Viperz family, but all good things must come to an end. Change is not always bad. Meg has been very good just rolling with the punches. When she makes up her mind to do something ~ she goes full force. Now on the other hand, when she doesn't want to do something ~ look out she puts forth about a 10th of an effort, if that :) She knows what she wants. We love you Meg!!

Megans Dance Recital

Megan has been taking a Dance class this last quarter at school. I can not say enough how much she loves to dance. Holy cow!!! Every day after school, after dinner, before bed she was dancing. She had a great time performing for us. It was so sweet for Grandpa, Nick and the girls to come watch. They brought her flowers and all. It sure meant a lot to have so many people there. I think Grandma went the next day. They had 2 performances the following day. I went to one and Grandma went to the other.
